We dealt with Frank Vaughan and my wife and I am were extremely pleased with the results of all the work we had done. Our original patio, which was almost 40 years old, was coming apart and we needed our patio re-graded and new pavers installed. We also decided to have installed a built-in BBQ within an island on the patio. Prior to the start of the job, (approximately one month) we met Frank at his showroom and we picked out the pavers and the granite for the island. Frank said he would arrange for the plumbers, electricians, and granite company to come and do their jobs which was great as we didn’t have to call or coordinate with them on our own. Frank promised the job would start in early April (weather permitting) and it was. It only took a few days to remove the old brick “pavers” from our patio and install new pavers after re-grading. As soon as the new pavers were installed the island was then installed with the built-in BBQ. While this was going on we also hired Frank to level some of our slabs of our front sidewalk, as we had recently lost trees, and the town removed them, but left the tree roots. Again, a seamless job and the sidewalk slabs are like new and everything is level. Frank’s employees worked efficiently and long hours. After each day, Frank called us to discuss what was done and if we had any concerns. I would highly recommend Frank and his company, Scenic View Landscaping and Design Specialists, and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

These guys are professionals. I am extremely happy with the results of all the work we had done. Frank and his team really worked hard to make sure my wife and I liked every detail of our job. We had some unconventional ideas for our backyard, including massive fake palm trees that needed to be cemented into the ground. These things are extremely heavy, but the workers had no problem holding them up and moving them until we got them each placed perfectly to provide shade and privacy. They incorporated other tropical plants to really tie in the “vacation feel” we were looking for in our backyard. They also ran all new drainage pipes, which tied in my sump pump, with my gutters and my backwash for pool filter, and drained them out to the street. This replaced all old broken pipes that were causing flooding on the side of my house. Problem solved! Frank checked back with us numerous times after the job was completed to ensure that we are still happy with everything, and make sure the drainage issue is completely resolved. I also mentioned that some of my pavers had shifted over the past few years (Installed by another company 2 years ago), and Frank had his guys go through the whole yard fixing any that weren’t level. I highly recommend Scenic View for anyone looking for a professional company that will give your yard a clean, flawless look, with great customer service.

Scenic View was able to do the work ahead of the timeline that they originally gave me. They showed up on time and the staff is very polite. The work was done well and everything looked great. They answered a lot of my questions and I felt very comfortable.

Two weeks after the work was done, I notice that part of the drainage system was settling in a weird way and I contacted Scenic View about the issue. They told me that they would take care of it and they did.

I would definitely use their service again and recommend them to anyone as well. There was a lot of water settling around the foundation of the house. Scenic View came in and built a drainage system to get the water away from the house.

I came home on Friday and they had come that afternoon to get a jump start on Saturday since there was so much to do. When i got home the patio was still covered in weeds, I changed my clothes and looked back out and the patio was completely weed free!!

Gary’s team was on time, thorough, polite, efficient and all-around they did a great job. So much so that we kicked ourselves for not hiring them sooner so we could enjoy the work rather than set up the next homeowners to enjoy our yard.

Though I had discussed mulch options on the phone with the owner, Frankie, Gary checked with me again and gave me options right up till the very end. I also asked him to remove a couple bushes that were originally only supposed to be trimmed. He said “sure, not a problem.”

Gary was great on the front end, but Frankie was also great on the back end. One of the primary reasons we chose to work with Scenic View is because Frankie was extremely responsive. Fantastic! I always do research on Angie”s list before hiring anyone. I got a few estimates and the reason I went with Frank was because his vision of what my landscape should look like was far better than I had in mind. What he has done has transformed my yard to a “show stopper”. His crew arrived on 7/8/15 and removed all the old plants and debris, essentially prepping the yard for the new landscape.

On 7/10/15 they arrived at 8:15 and worked thru the day, finishing around 4:00pm. Although, Frank was not onsite all day, he periodically checked back onsite, ensuring everything was going smoothly. When the job was complete, he provided me with detailed instructions on how to care for my new plants, and advised I could call him with any questions that might arise. I would highly recommend Scenic View and will definately be using them in the future! Removed old plants, created flower beds, installed several “focal” points, Maple trees, etc, including 4 boulders weighing 300 to 500lbs. Installed weed mat, seeded the bare grass areas and installed mulch.

Went great. In addition to the work described, they also trimmed things up nicely without charging more, and didn’t complain about multiple wasp stings (because apparently there was a wasp’s nest in the bushes). We had the work done to protect our house, and got a much nicer looking front yard out of it as a bonus. We had landscaping beds so high there were a couple of inches of dirt going on to the siding with mulch on top. We were concerned about bugs getting into the house, and didn’t want to just lower it all because then water would drain towards the house. Frankie recommended putting in Delaware stone after removing the mulch and dirt, so water would drain straight down. In addition to that, the estimate called for weeding and replacing the weed matting.

Full disclosure: my husband and I cannot be the easiest clients to deal with. We fret over even small decisions. That being said, Frankie deserves even more credit for being patient and responsive throughout our job.

We contacted Scenic View when we first purchased our home because our real estate agent recommended that we grade the soil away from our foundation. Frank came out and provided a quote, and we put the job off as winter was approaching. We realized that we needed our patio to be replaced and so had Frank come out again this spring for another estimate. My husband and I poured over the paver choices and frequently emailed Frank with question after question concerning both jobs. He not only responded immediately via email, he would often call and make helpful, insightful suggestions.

We were (finally) able to decide on all aspects of our projects, and we scheduled for mid-June. We received an email and a phone call on a Sunday evening to confirm for Monday morning (8 am); at 7:55, the truck and equipment began pulling up around our property. Within minutes of arriving, our slab patio was gone, our pear tree and vegetation were removed and the crew began leveling the patio area. Frank was on-hand to oversee the work being done for a good portion of the day. The crew worked until well after 6 pm, and were sure to meticulously clean our property and the street.

The second day began with a call from Frank, asking if we’d like a tree to replace the pear tree we lost. Once again, shortly before 8 am, the crew arrived and got right down to work. They finished the patio, graded our soil and installed the landscaping features (decorative boulders, goose egg rocks, bushes and trees, and black mulch.)

Here, I have to mention Frankie’s attention to detail: my husband had asked about another project and we wanted a Japanese maple tree to be incorporated; Frank’s determination was that the tree would look “lost” in the larger project. However, when he arrived with the trees for our initial project, he included a Japanese maple and made sure it was featured prominently in the layout. We also discovered that there was concrete that had deteriorated around our chimney base and Frank ensured that fresh cement replaced that before the soil and mulch were laid down.

The crew finished and my husband and I were floored. Again, they cleaned, swept, hosed-down and leaf-blew our property and the street surrounding our house. They were meticulous in every detail. They were even kind enough to place our patio furniture and grill on our new patio for us! Their dedication to detail resulted in a job so beautiful that it changed the look of our home and has had our neighbors stopping us to compliment the work. As far as our landscaping, our front yard was in dire need of an overhaul. They completely gutted it so there was nothing left but dirt. They put fresh sod down and used skillfully chosen decorative shrubs and trees, mulch and decorative boulders, and lighting to create a beautiful park-like scene. We get compliments on our front yard all the time, and a day doesn’t go by that we don’t admire the beauty of it. They also did our back yard, but not to the same extent as our front. Tall, privacy trees were placed on the border of our property, and smaller decorative shrubs were carefully situated around our patio. We used river rocks instead of mulch in the back, and it all looks professionally put-together and as pretty as the front. In addition, we had a small driveway in the back yard that we no longer wanted, and after we dug it up, they sodded it for us. Frank, the owner, completely designed the landscaping for our property. Frankie had given us the best estimate (not the cheapest, but not the highest) for a much needed and over due drainage system install. Once we sent the signed contract with deposit, he called on a Sunday to let us know he will be starting Monday morning at 7:30am. And on the next morning at 7:30am, he and his crew pulled up. He introduced me to his partner Gary who was in charge of the project. After giving Gary instructions, Frank left and the crew got to work. Since the contract itself was not as detailed as the estimate, I did have to point out an additional leader that was included in the job. Once Gary confirmed with Frank, they not only did that leader but tied in another a few feet away at no additional cost. They also relocated a 45+ year old Hydragea for me. They wrapped up about 6pm. They cleaned up well, graded soil nicely, and spread grass seed where necessary.

After his initial estimate, the sump pump drainage situation got worse after it had been spewing water on the lawn for a couple of weeks. I had “interviewed” several landscapers for the job. Frank’s proposal was the best as far as cost and design. What really made Frank stand out compared to the others was his professionalism and passion for his work. They went straight to work, Frank also was able to point out things to me that were incorrect, such as not using plastic end caps on the trench drain, they had used tape and the pipes failed to connect properly. Frank was on and available for advise and questions during the entire process!!! Several times the plan was revised for the better and wanted to do the job right!! I personally observed Frank say he was going to leave the other drainage system in place because it had worked. NOTE: (This system was in place prior to the other companies poor job) only to have him change his mind and told me ” I want to do this the right way” he ripped everything out and redesigned the system on the fly. The pitch of the French drains are flawless!! Frank even went to utilize 3 layers of landscape plastic and 1 layer of landscape fabric not the 2 layers of plastic I was quoted at no extra cost. He once again stated ” I want it done right and I want you to be happy”.

Our yard has a steep slope. Gradually rain water washed off the dirt on the side of landscaping and there was a deep trench that getting wider and wider. I asked Frank for a fix. We have used Scenic View in the past when we first bought our house 3 years ago. My husband’s job got relocated which caused us to sell our house. Our realtor suggested to do updated landscaping along the front of the house for better curb appeal. We informed Frank about the plant and our concerns and with no questions asked, the plant was changed the next day. After a few heavy rainfalls in the spring, we started noticing water in our basement. We identified the area where the water was coming in and talked to a few basement experts to determine whether we should tackle the problem from the inside or outside. The basement waterproofing companies all pushed for installation of an interior french drain, which would have been very pricey considering our basement was already a finished basement — so demolition/reconstruction was required. I called Frank and he made two visits to our home to assess the problem, offer recommendations and explain the procedure so we understood exactly what we were getting and why it was the right solution. He explained that by installing an interior french drain, we would still have all the water problems that we currently have outside. Water would still be pooling up against the house and finding its way into the basement. Although we may not see the water with the interior french drain, it would still be there –the foundation would remain wet and over time this would cause problems with the concrete. An outdoor drainage system, on the other hand, would get all the water away from the house and to the street. Also, a french drain is no good if we were to lose power (which usually only goes out during big storms) since there’s no power to pump the water out of the basement. Logically, this made sense so we decided to enlist Frank to install the outdoor drainage system.

Frank and his team arrived on time and got the job done quickly over the next two days. They added soil to grade property away from the house along the back and the right side of the house; installed an underground drainage system along the entire back of the house; tied 4 leader tubes into drainage system and installed plastic sheeting and 2×3 inch Delaware stone along the back of the house; installed drainage system clean outs on each gutter/leader.

This was an amazing transformation. Our front yard was a disaster; the back yard not much better. In two days the crew of 5 made all of that disappear and replaced it with a beautiful new look. They expertly removed all the old grass, shrub stumps, and other leftover plants. They re-graded everything, planted dozens of new shrubs, laid down weed-resistant fabric, put down yards of black mulch, and rolled out sod.

I contacted Frank and he was very responsive and understood that a lot of things were being done to the house and I had a limited budget at this time. I explained the different stages of work I would like to do and he agreed. He also said that for now, a cleanup was the most important thing and then to work on the front of the house, leave the backyard other than a cleanup for now for the fall or spring. He quoted the price which I thought was a lot, but hired him based on the comments on Angie’s List. He said that he would be able to do the work the following Monday or Tuesday. Monday afternoon the crew showed up, they were so professional, pleasant and extremely thorough as well as meticulously clean. When they left, everything was done that Frank and I had discussed. Once I saw how different the front and back yards looked I realized that there was a lot more work than I had originally thought The house no longer looks neglected. I am so happy with the results that I called Frank and hope to meet him next week to do the next phase earlier than I planned. The front and back yards had been neglected for a few years and needed a very extensive clean up – a lot of weeding, dead shrubs and trees needed to be removed, some bushes were coming out of the ground from the heavy snow fall this year and needed to be removed as well. Frank was very professional during when he came for the estimate. Six weeks later, around 8:00 am they got right to work, and continued working until about 8:30 that evening. 90% of the work was completed on Day 1. They returned on Day 2 around 7:45 am to finish up sand between the pavers. We were not satisfied with the layout of the small walkway from the driveway to the back door (not their fault, we were not home for that particular consultation) and without hesitation pulled up all of the pavers and redid it. We will be using this company again for future work, and have recommended them to friends and neighbors. Laid patio stone, graded the yard with excavated soil, over seeded, replaced a small concrete walkway that was in bad shape with matching patio stone, planted 4 privacy bushes, mulched the bush bed and the small area between the patio and garage.

Since we could not afford a full hardscape patio we opted for stone. I had seen an episode on This Old House where they installed stone instead of hardscape. I met with Frank after seeing some work he had done on a neighbors property. Frank knew his materials, made suggestions that made sense and his price was good. After waiting several days for other estimates it was clear that Scenic View was the only landscaper that was interested in the job. I made follow up calls to Frank to firm up the date and the crew came in the early afternoon. Frank indicated they would be done that afternoon although we had our doubts as this was a big area. To our surprise the whole job was completed by 5:30 PM. Frank and his crew were very professional. We were allowed to use the neighbors driveway to facilitate the unloading of the stone material. They cleaned up after as if they were never there. Frank even took some branches as a result of tree pruning we had done saving us from cutting them up and going to the dump. I asked Frank about removing a tree and his price was on target so once I speak with the neighbors we will have him back to take care of that. If any other landscaping work is required we will bypass the the estimate process and contact Frank. We highly recommend Scenic View to anyone considering any type of landscape work. The new landscaping is a complete transformation. The “before” was a hog pog of gardens from the previous owner – a cluttered rock garden with several overgrown perennials and shrubs; a few overgrown areas with several types of Lilies and hostas. We were unsure where or how to begin this project and not sure if the rock garden could be removed without causing other problems. We also had an area where water collected when it rained and wanted to improve the drainage in that area.

Frank arrived for the estimate and immediately had a solution for all of our problem areas. He recommended we remove the rock garden with it’s circular configuration and replace with a freeform landscaping bed along the side of the yard. He also remove the various other gardens and replaced with another freeform area along the back fence. Frank used the boulders from the rock garden and borders to create drainage in our problem area. Mr. Vaughan and his team completely transformed in one day the portion of our backyard that used to be deserted and full of bare spots and weed. Things went very smooth from the outset. We discovered Scenic View Landscaping on Angie’s List and have used them several times in the past, and are always pleased with the results. Our yard needed attention; over the winter some of our older and overgrown shrubs (which had to be over 20 years old) sustained damage from the heavy snow storms we had over the winter. Some large branches just plain snapped due to the weight of the snow, making the shrubs look even more pathetic since they then had ugly bare spots. It was an eyesore. We contacted Frank and he came out to give us an estimate. He made some great suggestions and we scheduled the work to be done. The crew was here exactly when he told us they would be, and they performed their magic like usual. The ugly overgrown shrubs are gone, and replacing them is now a completely refreshed new landscape bed that totally fits our house (and our budget). From our first meeting where he gave me a quote and pitched his services, all the way to the end of the engagement, he was thoroughly professional, truly listened to my family’s and my own opinions and incorporated those into what he did, provided proactive advice to help me prioritize what I need, and conducted his work with the utmost integrity.

I got Frank to do four projects for me at the same time:

Uplift the landscaping of my front yard
Clean the wild area in the very back of my back yard (about 2,000 sqft covered with saplings, dead leaves, small trees and other junk that the previous owner had left behind
Create a stone walkway connecting my front yard to the deck in the back
Fill 3 depressions in my yard with soil and grass seed

My original intent was to do a lot more but Frank asked me for the budget I had in mind, and then worked with me to identify the most necessary things in my mind. He helped prioritize what I should do now vs what I can do in the future, and helped me stay in budget. I have found very few contractors willing to go above and beyond and do that. Most people just want to get more money and sometimes advise you to get things done that you don’t even need.

The work done was top notch and the price was reasonable. My family and I have covertly noticed random people walking on the street stop, stare at the landscaping in the front and comment on it. The clean-up job in the back left me with a wild space that is now pleasant rather than an eye-sore. Frank also pruned a line of shrubs separating my backyard from my neighbors for free. And with the stone walkway, Frank had originally quoted his price with small stones in mind, but when we discussed later I wanted larger stones which are more expensive. However, he got me those stones without charging more money. It is all these little things that made this experience even more pleasant. I called several providers to get estimates for a few projects needed around our home. Frank returned my call promptly and came out the next evening to do an estimate. I had a few really messed up areas around my home, that we had been putting off . We live on a farm so it’s basically devoid of any “formal” landscaping, but there was one area that was pretty torn up by a recent patio replacement project – machines drove over it, killed some of my plants, plus it was all lumpy and torn up with tire tracks, etc. I wasn’t looking for anything grandiose – it would be totally out of place with it’s “rustic” surroundings” but I needed the area to look somewhat normal condition, and mulch/stone added so I no longer had to mow this section. I also had another area where an old broken path of concrete was removed, and had wanted him to just reuse some patio blocks we had taken up to lay a path where the old concrete was . This area was also wrecked. Plus, I needed a bed extended from the front of the house to around the side where the ground was 2 different levels, in order to eliminate a potential drainage issue. And lastly, I needed a bed created near the back of the house so I could mow around it with a riding mower and not have to use the push mower to go in and out the little alcoves around our chimney. What impressed me the most was that Frank did not try to “sell” me anything, instead he respected my needs – even my crazy request to reuse my old patio blocks, and did exactly what I asked him to do. Of course he looked at the area and made a few suggestions – but all based on what I was trying to accomplish with nothing overblown. I was so comfortable after our meeting that I did not even follow thru with getting additional estimates. When it was time to do the work, it was totally painless! He was there at 7am, and although the day storming on and off, he and his crew worked anyway. All I know is I left my home with the place in a shambles and it looked wonderful when I came home. They came back the next day to finish up a few details, like raking and seeding around the patio block path, plus he also added some extra stone, and mulched an additional bed to match the other which was not on our original project list. Very professional and cooperative – whenever there was a fork in the road that could result in a better outcome, they made appropriate and professional suggestions (and were not afraid to give their honest opinion). My wife was never inconvenienced and actually missed the commotion when they were done.

Every day was a new milestone – and upon arriving home you could see the pride in the work product and that the crew did the work in one day that would seem to take a week – and EVERYTHING was perfectly placed and thought out – so that showing up at home was the best part of the day to see what new amazing thing had been accomplished.

It is impossible to point out any defect – or complaint – the job was not cheap but it was exactly the price that I expected and it was completed on time and at budget. They can make your house seem like a brand new house and yard. It is truly worth every penny of the cost for such professional work.

The surprising part is that I spelled out the job to 3 other contractors on Angies list in Monmouth County – who did not even return my request. This was not a small job and it was their loss – but I am very happy the way things turned out – I can’t even imagine how p***** I would have been if someone did call back only to fail to show up on time and as promised EVERY DAY. I had just moved in to a new house with a yard that had not been tended to in years and was overrun with weeds and poison ivy. Working with Scenic View was a great experience from beginning to end. When I called Scenic View and left a message, Frank returned my call within 15 minutes and was that responsive throughout the experience. This is amazing for two reasons: 1) Scenic view actually has voicemail that allows customers to leave a message and 2) that they return the call promptly. This would seem like “Good Business 101” but considering that many of my other calls to other vendors have not been returned to this day, it is definitely commendable and worthy of mention here. In addition, once we established a meeting time, Frank arrived on time.

During the initial walkthrough of our yard, Frank listened to what we were looking to have done, and offered some ideas about how those things could be accomplished. He also had ideas for different plants that would do well not only for the climate, but also for the sun exposure in our yard. Before he left, I had an estimate in my hands.

It took my wife and I a couple of weeks to firm up exactly what we wanted to get done but once we did, Frank came out again and helped us firm up the plan and he quickly re-estimated based on some new priorities we had come up with. Fast-forward to the installation day. Frank and his crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. The work was methodical and precise and everyone was courteous and professional (even saying hello to my kids who watched fascinated from every window where they could get a view). In the end, the new playground area with brown rubber mulch came out gorgeous. The new plants were installed expertly, and any plants moved were handled with care. At the end of the job, all members of the crew walked the yard to do a quality check, gathered up any items that were out of place and left the yard in pristine condition. I was presented with a complete watering schedule and care guide for the new plants, as well as some instructions on any of the plants that were moved to water them as if they were new. Finally, I was handed the bill that was exactly the amount we expected.

This was a great experience overall and I would recommend Scenic View in a heartbeat and will definitely work with them again for future needs. In addition to doing outstanding work, they demonstrate that they don’t take their customers’ business for granted, and most importantly, the value their customers’ time. Scenic View created A Playground Area, redefined planting beds, and installed new plants and mulch, re-seeding of a few bare patches, trimming of a very large crape myrtle.

Frank was quick to respond to my initial call, collected a little information, scheduled a convenient time to come by and walked the property with me while i explained the items that were to be completed. When i finally did get back to him and indicated i was interested in working with him on the project , he made another run out to the property and we discussed a few changes to my original request, he provided suggestions and images of material to be added, compiled an estimate on the spot and we scheduled the work to be done within the week. Frank called to follow up confirming dates and times at least twice prior to showing up and as anticipated was right on time with a good crew of guys that jumped to work right away on one of the hottest days of the summer. I also think that its important to note at this point that Frank remained fully involved in the project working side by side with his guys and was not in anyway hands off. I always appreciate when the guy that sells me on a job is actually the one doing the work. Frank estimated the job to take a day or two, and he was spot on, after wrapping up the first day and taking off, i had the opportunity to soak in the great work they had done and consider a few modifications. The next morning when they all showed up i explained the few changes i would like to see done, and without flinching Frank altered the original plan and did not hit me with any extra charges.

Once the project was complete Frank even made a point of doing a drive by a few days later following a rain storm and called to provide a few suggestions for an area exposed to runoff.

My entire experience with Frank and Scenic was a good one, Frank was enthusiastic, great to work with, stayed within budget, and has great follow up. For any woman who feels that contractors always try to take advantage of her financially, or for anyone else out there frankly, Frank is the one and only person to call and meet with. As a matter of fact, I actually spoke with some other owner of a landscaping company located in Scotch Plains, and who is listed on Angieslist, and while he is an arborist as well, he tried to charge me an obscene amount of money for doing the very same thing. So, in working with Frank, I was extremely impressed with his professionalism, credentials, knowledge, expertise, follow thru, likeability, and reliability. I learned about him from Angie’s List and that’s why I contacted him. He has received great reviews,and after meeting with him, it is very evident why. Frank returned my initial call promptly. When he came to see the job he was very informative about our options. My concern was to get the job done before Memorial Day weekend. He was able to complete the job as promised. He and the crew arrived right on time and started right into the project. His team was neat and cleaned up as they completed each portion of the job. I was really impressed by their work ethic. They removed 2 truck loads of bad soil and replaced it with high quality top soil. The sod was beautiful. When they got done with the lawn it looked 1000% better then what was there originally. The area around the pool was a major problem. It required grading and placement of Dover stone. This made the pool look fantastic. As the crew worked they washed off the patios and removed the left over debrie from a previous contractor. They even weeded our vegetable garden. Frank gave us specific instructions on how to care for the sod. He even helped us put our pool vaccum cleaner into the pool. Frank even offerd to come back and fix any damage done by the plumber who is coming to install a gas line for the pool heater. He told me how to instruct the plumber on how to remove the sod so they can dig the ditch they need for the pipe. When we had the family barbecue the next Sunday everyone was impressed by the job they did. I couldn’t stop raving about them. I have recommended them to several people that are concidering having landscaping done.

Where do I begin. Scenic View was not the cheapest, but he came to me with the most professional approach and had the most enthusiasm for competing for my business. This enthusiasm continued after he cashed the check, and he was determined to get me the kind of lawn for which I could be proud. To me that’s the sign of a true pro.

My lawn was a wreck. It hadn’t been growing very well in the past few seasons and, with all the trucks driving over it to remove the eight trees that were knocked down by Sandy, it wasn’t much more than a dirt road in spots. I needed to be sure that the fence repairs were in place before the lawn work began, so Frank reached out to my fencing contractor and they coordinated their efforts–the day after the fence went in, Frank was there and ready to go.

I opted for seed, mostly because of budget, but Frank spread something called “Black Beauty” which isn’t something you can get from Home Depot. Several weeks in and I have a deeper, darker lawn than my neighbors, and I couldn’t be prouder. Frank kept checking in with me, sending me information on how to start off the lawn the right way, a contact for a fertilizer contractor who I’m definitely calling, and to see how everything was going. When I sent him photos of a few spots where the lawn didn’t quite take, he had someone out in 48 hours and I found a bunch of new seed and some re-raked soil. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Scenic View Landscaping again, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs a new start on their lawn. Frank’s team sprayed to kill off my old lawn, then came back to remove the entire lawn using a sod cutter before adding new topsoil, grass seed and seed hay to cover. He then positioned my sprinklers for optimal coverage. Later, when there were some patches that didn’t come in as expected, his team quickly came back and reseeded the few bare spots.

We searched for a landscape designer in the area and that was difficult to find. We saw Scenic View’s website and was very impressed, however, we saw that most of the work wasn’t in this area. Frank knew the area very well and had no problem coming down. Frank created a great design and was able to complete all the work in 2 days. He was on site to supervise the work and assured us that we’d be very pleased. When we saw that there was a problem with the sprinklers, Frank called EcoSystems and they worked together the following day to ensure things were in proper working order. Part of the lawn needed his attention a week later and he did not hesitate to come back to remedy the situation at no cost! It looks better than we could of imagined. His design, clean up, customer service and work is superb! This is a corner home and the property needed work in all areas (side, front & backyard). Bushes, a tree, an old stump and grass needed to be removed. An area previously used for gardening in the backyard was removed, as well. Topsoil was added and leveled and everything was thoroughly cleaned. Received about 5 trees, a variety of bushes in the front and side, stones, mulch, topsoil and sod in the front and on the side and soil and seeding in the backyard.

Scenic View exceeded our expectations. After spending a couple hours with us at the start of the project to discuss the project and our preferences, Frank Vaughan did everything else. He created the design, selected the flowers and trees and the stepping stones for the walkway and introduced us to EcoSystems for the fencing and irrigation work. Scenic View and EcoSystems coordinated the installation schedule between themselves and in just four days everything was finished and we’re thrilled with the result. Our yard was in need of a complete overhaul. We had new topsoil added and then the front and back yards were graded and sodded. Two new cherry trees were planted to replace trees felled in last year’s hurricane, a variety of flowers and bushes planted and the flower beds mulched and fertilized and stones added for accenting. All the existing shrubs and hedges were trimmed and, where necessary, staked. We also had new stepping stone walkways installed in both the front and back yards.

We recently moved and we have called Frankie again to help us put trees in our backyard for privacy reasons at our new house. How did it go? Incredibly well! Frankie and his crew are landscape artists and very talented handling plant material as well as pavers. They are really hard workers. I must comment on the fact that Frankie worked side by side with the crew. I thought that his personal interest in the jobs he contracted to provide played a big role in the successful completion of the jobs. I first contracted with Scenic View Landscaping in for work done in July 2011. At that time they designed and planted landscaping for my front and back yards as well as installed pavers on my double driveway, front, and side walkways and a patio with a wall. The computer designs Frankie prepared for me looked greatbut paled in comparison to the completed job which was an still is absolutely wonderful. I have received numerous compliments on the work and have given people contact information for Scenic View Landscaping. Early in 2012 a very old tree I had asked Frankie to keep in place and use as part of the landscape design died. I had to have it removed. I contacted Frankie to select an appropriate replacement tree which he did. In addition, when the backyard was done the prior year I had retained a corner for a vegetable garden. I subsequently decided it would be easier to use a raised bed so I asked Frankie to landscape in the garden area. His design was perfect for the corner of the yard and provides a lovely landscape right up to the shed. I have a total of about 100 new plants. All were incredibly healthy and planted well. The pavers are amazing. They provide a polished appearance in both the front and back of my house. It was fun to watch Frankie and his crew carefully place the stones.

While they were working, I was having my driveway done. Frankie noticed that there were some issues which would later cause the side of the driveway to collapse. As a result, additional work needed to be done to retain the side of the driveway. He built up and graded the side of the driveway and saved me a lot of headaches down the line. Besides doing the regular weekly lawn maintenance of cutting, trimming and blowing, they cleaned up overgrown brush and ivy and planted grass seed. It made a huge difference in the appearance of the house. With all the work they did to the front of the house, I had several people stop by and compliment the outstanding work they did.

Originally, we saw Scenic View work at the diner on route 9. We contacted the telephone number and Frank Vaughan from Scenic View contacted us back right away. He came out to the house to discuss the original job asked what budget we were looking to work within. He took photos and came back with suggested approaches to meet our needs and work within our budget. Each project work this way. Scenic View would provide a written estimate and on our approval would come within a reasonable time to do the work. The team is neat and always completed the projects as agreed. In additon to projects, we use Scenic View for spring clean up and pruning as well as mid summer pruning and weeding. Each year we add to our landscaping. Scenic view has done all our work over the last four years. Most recently, we added 20 aborvities along a fence line with some flowering bushes and plants. Scenic view provided detailed preview by photographing the area before and showing us what the job would look like when completed. The last job included Mulching all our beds front side and rear, trimming all plants and shrubs, fertilizing plants and spryaing unwanted weeds, adding decrative stone in front beds. Our entire front yard has been transformed from builders landscaping to en enjoyable garden setting with different colors, seasonal blooms, and plant types in addition to plant, rock and mulch island formations. Everyone comments how nice the yard looks (thanks to Frank and the team from Scenic View).

My experience working with Scenic View has been very good. I have found them to be easy to work with, professional, on time, and hard workers. All of my plantings were healthy and remained so, and my patio looks fantastic. They are able to also come up with solutions as the moment dictates. We had a problem during installation which required switching the patio from one area to another due to an underground situation we weren’t aware of beforehand. Being able to come up with answers to problems quickly and effectively, and still get the job done on time is a great quality which they have. My house had been neglected by the prior owner for many years and was a sore spot on the block. Scenic View helped put new life into it. while paying attention to my desires and needs in the process, and working with me to keep the price within my means. My neighbors, still haven’t stopped complimenting me on it – I’ve even had people from several blocks away stop their cars if they see me to let me know how great it looks now. They show up on time every week to cut the lawn and have been responsive for small issues as well. When the recent hurricane came through, I had a couple of cypress trees which came up out of the ground, one which was bending into a dogwood tree. They came out to trim them back, and stake them up properly and redirect them back into a proper growing pattern. Overall, good experiences from their services no matter what type they are. Very happy I found them. Work consisted of meetings to come up with a new landscaping plan which was in keeping with the feel of the architecture of the house and would fit in with the neighborhood, incorporate existing specimen plantings, tearing out old, overgrown landscaping, installation of a new paver patio, coordination of services with underground sprinkler company, mulching, re-seeding of lawn and planting of new trees and bushes. Special consideration was given to make the patio area which is the “back yard” as private as possible, since the home is a corner lot with no fencing involved. We have continuing weekly lawn maintenance services which include spring and fall cleanups being done by Scenic View as well.

Contacted Frank and immediately received a return phone call back. Came to our house to discuss what our needs were. He took pictures and returned the following week with a computerized layout of each area of the front yard with planting and bed suggestions. Frank worked with us to get us close to our original budget. Work was completed in one day and started about a week after we finalized the landscaping design. We tweaked the landscaping design with suggestions from Frank so that each area looked just right. Frank was great; I had scheduled to have some landscaping done in my yard, a privacy bed along the whole back of the yard and another small bed against the house. In total it was about $4000 worth of plants and labor. A couple weeks ago he stopped returning my calls and last week I resigned myself to the fact that, he would not call back and I needed another landscaper quick. I had Scenic View do my landscaping in Red Bank and they did a fantastic job. I interviewed a few landscapers from Angie’s List, but i felt most comforatable with Scenic View Landscaping. From the moment we got the estimate, I was impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and how he put us first. Within a few days, they came back to our house with a computerized design of the landscaping that showed us exactly what we were going to get. When they started the job, they were there on time, and the job went smoothly, and was finished on time as promised. I just moved to PA last year, and I was so impressed with Scenic View, that I called them this year to see if they would be willing to come out here and they did! The same quality and professionalism, not to mention the same crew as the previous year. We have people walk by our house and say what beautiful landscaping we have, and that is the best feeling. If you want quality work at a reasonable price, I would call Scenic View. We had Scenic View Landscape the fron of our house which included trees, medium size bushes, and smaller plants. We also had boulders placed in the landscaping which gave it a nice accent. It was topped off with mulch, and Delaware stone which I feel gives it a much classier look. From design through the completion of the work, the whole process went as smooth as could be. We couldn’t be more happy with Scenic View Landscaping! In March, my husband and I called Scenic View Landscaping to give us an estimate on re-doing our front yard landscaping. We had seen several jobs that they did in our area (including a house around the block from us which came out beautiful), so we figured we would give them a shot as well. The owner, Frankie, came to do the estimate and was extremely prompt and professional. We explained to him what we wanted and he took it from there. He returned to our house as promised a few days later with his laptop and had a whole computer-generated layout of EXACTLY what our house was going to look like. We had never seen anything like it. The presentation was top-notch. He was extremely thorough and explained each and every plant detail for detail. After going through the design with us, I was pleasantly surprised that the price was so reasonable! We have seen his work around and have always thought we couldn’t afford it and after speaking to other landscape contractors his price and design was by far the best we had seen. He also only took a $500.00 deposit, and told us that when the job was 100% complete that we could pay him the balance. Frankie told us that they would be out to do the work in the beginning of April and that the job would take 1 day. They came and did the work on Monday April 9th. They showed up at 7am and had the job completed the same day by around 6pm. There were about 7 guys working (including the owner Frankie who did the initial estimate) and the crew was just great; they were so polite and professional, and even the cleanup was meticulous. They did an amazing job! When my husband got home from work he was shocked – it was better than he (or I) could have even imagined. What a transformation! They also installed low voltage landscape lights for us and at nighttime it looks just as breath-taking as it does in the daytime! My friends and all of my neighbors love it. My husband and I are so extremely pleased with the quality and workmanship that we received from Scenic View Landscaping. We will refer them to our family and friends. We hope that in return to Frank that this review will help him to get more jobs and will assure future customers that they are making a great decision!
